MyProviderSpace Project
This website is about a revolutionary idea which will dramatically improve the job situation of the 44 million informal caregivers (family and friends) who take care of the 100 million people in need of care in the USA. By creating an appropriate broadband information infrastructure particularly in rural areas these informal caregivers will be able to do tele-work from the homes of the care recipients, a feature which by itself could justify the MyProviderSpace Project. Other beneficiaries of the proposed system will be the aging population in these rural areas, a large fraction of whom are in need of care or are themselves giving care. Staying connected and being involved with the community improves their quality of life. Furthermore, tele-training of caregivers, tele-medical services and tele-work of other groups of the rural population will lead to less commuting time, savings of gasoline and time, thereby helping to protect the environment.
